Taking delivery of my new car on April 8th! Take a guess at what I’ve bought.
Hints: It is manual, and it weighs under 3000lbs.
My Beigemobile (2004 Camry V6) will now be given to my twin sister for her use, as we’re both graduating at the same time and she needs a car for work.

500 Abarth?
![]() 03/22/2017 at 14:10 |

Obvious answer is Miata, but something tells me it’s not that obvious. 2nd guess is a 500 Abarth. Either one right?

I bet Miata/Fiata/RC, but I hope Lotus.

FR-S/GT-86?

The answer is not Miata (would want an RF but in Canada it’s wayyyy out of my price range at $40k).
Also not a 500 Abarth, although a cheeky choice.

Not a 500 Abarth, although it was a great option.

Civic hatch?
![]() 03/22/2017 at 14:17 |

I wish it was a Lotus! No Miata/Fiata because you have to cough up $40k plus for an RF (which is what I would have wanted within that range).

86?

What would the equivalent of a Toyota Corolla/Camry be in the motorcycle world? Now you have me thinking.

You’re so close.

Wait, you have a twin sister?

The new ones are so nice, although it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. My good friend is going to be purchasing one within the next few months or so however, they’re a great option for something cheap, practical, and fun.

Are you in Canuckistan? I ask because I just bought an RF for significantly less than 40K on-the-road. I got a manual RF Club w/ the BBS/Brembo package and my sales price was sub-35K + TTL

Toyobaru? MINI? FiST? Mitsubishi Mirage (holy shit this things under 2000lbs with a manual!)? Toyota Corolla? Yaris? Smart Car? Nissan Micra? Miata/Fiata?

![]() 03/22/2017 at 16:05 |

Just over 3000lbs... I was going to buy one 2 years ago but now they’ve shot up in value...

Is that the actual outline? Cus it looks reminiscent of a Chevy Beretta...

No sir. Texas, the opposite of Canuckistan.
![]() 03/23/2017 at 12:53 |

Well that explains it! I ended up at $33.8K OTD (incl. 13% tax and licensing) for a ‘17 BRZ, whereas the Miata RF GS with the Club pack would have been literally over $50k OTD for me here. I test drove it just to see but ended up liking the BRZ a little bit better anyways (personal preference).
Where the Miata is constantly compared to the BRZ in every automotive content provider, especially in the US, it makes sense because the pricing in your case is similar. In Canada, it is well past Golf R and even mid-level STI money; pricing it in the range of S3's and Focus RSes...
Congrats on your Miata RF though, they’re awesome cars!
